How to Prepare

You want to wax, but don't know what to ask. Here's how to prepare.

Hair needs to be 1/8 - 1/4" long. That's 3 weeks of hair growth. Anything shorter and the wax won't grip it. Anything longer and removal becomes painful. 3 weeks of growth is just right.

Exfoliating is important. Exfoliating sloughs off dead skin and lifts the hair in preparation for waxing. If you're not exfoliating your body daily, begin now. And don't forget to moisturize.

Limit your sun exposure. No sunbathing, tanning, or prolonged sun exposure 48 hours prior to hair removal.

If you are concerned about discomfort, here are a few tips that may help. 1) Relax. Take a deep breath. 2) Don't get jacked up on caffeine, it only heightens your sensitivity. 3) Some people say that taking Ibuprofen 30 minutes before their appointment helps take the edge off. 4) For us females, the most sensitive time of the month is the first few days before and after starting our menstrual cycle. Consider yourself warned and schedule yourself appropriately.
